The Mason Family Yard Center is run mainly by high school and college students in the Raleigh (or triangle) area. We have paid employees who make $8/hour, as well as employees on "internship" who receive course credit rather than salary based on the amount of hours they work. Our college student employees work in the center to help students who are working in the same field as their major whereas our high school students typically work on helping students with multiple subjects. We try to have at least one or two employees for every major, and we have six tutors in the center at all times.
Requirements for High School Employees:
-must have at least a 3.0 GPA
-must be a junior or senior at a school in the Raleigh/triangle area
Requirements for College Student Employees:
-must have at least a 2.5 GPA overall
-must have at least a 3.0 GPA in the major they are studying

"Perfectionism is the voice of the opressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life, and it is the main obstacle between you and a shitty first draft. I think perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping-stone just right, you won't have to die. The truth is that you will die anyway and that a lot of people who aren't even looking at their feet are going to do a whole lot better than you, and have a lot more fun while they're doing it."
